B.A.S.S. and the Arkansas B.A.S.S. Federation are dedicated to America's young people and conservation.

Kids are the future of this great sport and therefore B.A.S.S. developed the BASSMASTER CastingKids program in 1991. Eventually Chevy Trucks, CITGO, and other great sponsors joined the effort to make this the most successful youth fishing program in the world.

Open to young people in two age groups, 7-10 and 11-14, the goals of this competition are to involve America's youth in fishing and to foster in each participant an appreciation and concern for our outdoors.

Thompson and Lusby win their respective age groups in the 2011 Arkansas B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Junior State Championship.
Lake Village, AR, May 1, 2011: The best junior anglers in Arkansas descended on Lake Chicot and its cypress lined banks this past weekend to crown state champions for 2011. With Mother Nature wreaking havoc throughout the south the past few weeks, none of the anglers knew what to expect when practice started on Saturday. Throughout the weekend, the wind never relented and caused many to have to alter their original game plan for the tournament. As the weigh in concluded Sunday afternoon at Lake Chicot State Park, it was evident few had dialed in what the Lake Chicot Bass were wanting. (more..)

Rogers, AR, April 18, 2010: The best junior anglers in Arkansas descended on Beaver Lake this past weekend expecting to find bedding fish and fish up shallow everywhere. However, as so many times in the past on Beaver Lake, Mother Nature was going to make things interesting. A cold front passing through on Friday and Saturday changed the fishing drastically from Saturday to Sunday making much of what was learned on Saturday irrelevant..................more
